TIAA (Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America) is helping those who help others find confidence in retirement. TIAA was founded 100+ years ago to help teachers retire and have expanded their services to healthcare and cultural fields.
TIAA is currently upgrading their platform and have been in the services with developers to get the project across. To help improve the user interface of the developers demo, the team and I embraced in a 3 day design sprint to improve the current interface.
THE PROBLEM The current demo is misusing UX elements, lacks structure, and interface can be vastly improved to match the company's brand.
THE SOLUTION We refreshed the interface to match the company's brand guidelines, improved the overall user flows, and worked with developers to ensure the new design can be done.

DEVELOPERS' DEMO
The only thing that we were given was a 9 minute video (with no audio) that showed click through flows of the developer's demo.
That was it.
We had no time for user interviews or research or analysis of the current demo. To get a better understanding of what we were working with, I created 6 task flows from the current demo video to ensure that we would design all the necessary screens.
Task Flows
The demo had a total of 64 clicks for 6 task flows. We improved the user experience down to a total of 45 clicks.

STYLE TILE
TIAA has been a client of infosys + wongdoody for a while. There has already been a new and improved style tile and guidelines created by previous teams. For the sake of time, and the client's request, we are going to reuse that style tile so that the entire interface look remains whole.

NEXT STEPS & ACCOLADES
Normally after ideating a design, I conduct a usability test to make sure that any iterations are made. In this case, this design was submitted to the developers. Briefly, we had meetings over microsoft teams to ensure they have all the elements they need to create this design into development. This is currently a work in progress with developers.
Overall, this design sprint went by really quick and we created over 40 screens in 2 design days! The team was very impressed with our work (as you can see on the image on the left!)
